Fair Manager

Overview

The Galveston County Fair & Rodeo, is seeking an organized, motivated, and professional Fair

Manager to oversee daily operations of the Fair office. This role is central to supporting the

Executive Board, Board of Directors, volunteers, sponsors, and community members. The Fair

Manager ensures efficient office administration, financial tracking, and communication to

keep our nonprofit running smoothly year-round.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily front office operations, including staff supervision and scheduling.

Coordinate annual fair events, programs, and year-round facility rentals.

Provide administrative support to the Fair President, Fair Board, and committees.

Work with Treasurer to maintain accurate records for accounts receivable/payable, payroll,

and bank reconciliations using QuickBooks.

Oversee ShoWorks exhibitor database and assist livestock secretary with data entry, results

processing, and reporting.

Prepare contracts, invoices, and board/committee meeting agendas.

Assist with annual budget preparation and monthly financial reporting.

Coordinate communication with website and social media managers.

Provide excellent customer service to, exhibitors, volunteers, and the public.

Ensure timely procurement of office supplies and equipment.

Work extended hours during fair season and special events

Uphold the mission and values of the Galveston County Fair & Rodeo in all interactions.

Willing to take on additional task when they arise outside of the job description

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Manager, Administrative Coordinator, or similar role

(nonprofit/event experience preferred).

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Canva and QuickBooks.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, board members, and volunteers.

Flexible schedule during Fair season and major events.

Knowledge of Galveston County and agricultural/youth programs is a plus.


Showorks knowledge is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary based on experience (range: $45,000–$55,000/year).
